These crescent moon plates tell the story of their maker, Aoi Watanabe. The traditonal namako glaze and subtle doro glaze that her family revived and developed meet Aoi-san's contemporary sensibilities, the techniques she learned in Kyoto, and the modern and minimalist designs that inspire her.
