The Solar Terms Series draws inspiration from the Twenty-Four Solar Terms, approaching glass as a material that responds to seasonal change. Rather than depicting imagery, the works focus on how shifts in temperature are translated into material qualities.
Summer solstice pieces employ pale blue tones and irregular textures, creating a cooling, shaved-ice-like sensation through lightness and transparency. Winter solstice works, by contrast, emphasize thicker lines, deeper colors, and increased weight, conveying warmth and quiet density. Through subtle adjustments in texture, thickness, and balance, the series allows time and season to be sensed physically through glass, revealing change as a gradual and embodied experience.
