Taiwan Crafts

Taiwan

Aboriginal peoples, Chinese immigrants of diverse origins, Japanese colonial rule, and rapid industrialization in the postwar period — these varied elements and their interactions have shaped Taiwan's uniquely dynamic, multifaceted culture.

Crafts

Such dynamism is nowhere more apparent than in Taiwanese crafts. Founded on tradition, they draw on playful, creative inspiration to explore the essence of each craft.

Taiwan and Oshinsha

Since 2022, Oshinsha has collaborated closely with Taiwan through a range of initiatives, including workshops, exchanges, internships, and pop-ups. A highlight is our collaboration with Taipei National University of the Arts in 2025–26: under the theme of promoting Taiwanese crafts abroad, we held ten lectures and a pop-up in Paris together with DEJIMA STORE PARIS.
