dyeye is a Taiwan-based indigo studio that approaches indigo dyeing as an evolving expressive medium rather than a reproduction of traditional techniques. The practice focuses on subtle tonal variations that emerge on the fabric through repeated dyeing and controlled color gradation, forming a visual language that sits between painting and textile.
From a conceptual standpoint, dyeye reconsiders indigo dyeing as an experimental ground. By deliberately stepping away from established frameworks, the work returns to indigo as material and as an act of coloration itself. Through painterly composition and non-representational forms, the works move beyond dyed cloth, becoming explorations of material layers, temporality, and perceptual experience.
