Zhuzichu

Founded in 2021, Zhuzichu Studio is guided by the core philosophy “to glean from every tender and intricate insight of life.” Operated by a pair of sisters, it focuses on reimagining traditional raden craftsmanship within contemporary daily living. In Taiwan, raden was historically associated with large rosewood furniture, which has gradually faded from everyday use as lifestyles and family structures changed. Along with the craft’s technical difficulties, fewer artisans continue this practice today.

The studio follows a lineage of apprenticeship: their teacher once practiced raden with his brother, and this lineage is now carried forward by the sisters. Through small accessories and everyday objects, the studio returns raden to daily life, allowing shell and wood to be used, felt, and lived with.
