Sakazuki are the oldest style of sake cup. Held with two hands, they are often used for ceremonial purposes. Their wide mouths bring out the full flavor and aroma of sske.
Cinnabar glazes contain copper, which changes color depending on the conditions in the kiln during firing. The red color is rare, and can only be achieved by firing in the first chamber of a climbing kiln. The glaze's transformation can be seen in the well of the sakazuki where there is a small prick of bright green.
