This postcard series by botanical artist Bianca Ana Chavez captures the seasonal beauty of Tottori’s local flora. Printed on Inshu washi (kozo paper) in a standard postcard size, these cards are perfect for sharing or collecting, bringing the charm of nature to life.
"This is an illustration of the Yamanashi flower, a pear variety used for pollinating Tottori’s famous Nijusseiki pears. I was generously gifted these branches by Ando-san at his farm to create this artwork. Farmers cherish these branches, so I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity and the gesture.
Nijusseiki pears are a hallmark of Tottori, their crisp sweetness shared among friends and families, or elegantly boxed and sent across Japan. Since moving to Tottori, I’ve received countless Nijusseiki pears and sent many in return to loved ones abroad, even sharing pear-flavored candies. I hope everyone can experience the happiness this fruit brings, which owes its existence to the Yamanashi flowers. My heartfelt thanks to the farmers and the people who share this abundance."
