Using raden techniques, carefully cut pearl oyster, mother-of-pearl, and paua are inlaid and assembled to form a camellia blossom, symbolizing caution and humility. Through the combination of different shells, the flower emerges through material dialogue rather than emphasized form. Each shell fragment is hand-polished, shaped, and precisely positioned. The camellia unfolds quietly upon the wood, where craftsmanship gives form to gentle qualities, allowing a subdued resilience to resonate gently through everyday use.
