The cover of this notebook is made with kasuri-weave fabric that is hand-spun, woven, and dyed by Orimon-ya, a nonprofit in Yonago. The term kasuri comes from the Japanese word for "blur," as kasuri-weave has a slighly blurred pattern. Before dyeing, artisans tie-off sections of the individal threads at measured intervals, to prevent the dye from being absorbed accross the whole thread, which results in bicolor or multicolor threads. The threads are then woven together to create the slightly blurred kasuri-weave.
Filled with an array of differently-colored, authentic Inshu washi from sajiwashi, this hand-bound notebook is perfect for jotting down your thoughts and sketches, and would make a very special gift for the stationary lover, writer, or artist in your life.
