These one-of-a-kind necklaces are made using a technique called musubiori, or knotting, in which rope threads are stretched over the warp threads using a special loom, and bundles of thread are tied together. Like all our products, these pieces are completely handmade, from growing the cotton from seeds, to dyeing the threads, to weaving and finishing.
