Lightweight, breathable, and combining traditional Japanese patterns with modern motifs
By: Nagakan
Each Nagakan Cycling Cap is uniquely crafted from tenugui and carefully dyed by the artisans, so no two caps are alike. Made from top-quality Chita cotton, the Nagakan Cycling Cap is lightweight, breathable, quick-drying, and highly sweat-wicking. They serve as ideal companions for cycling adventures for all seasons.
Unlike the traditional tenugui pattern, the design concept of Wind blends traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern cycling motifs. For a cyclist, the wind is always an unpredictable role en route: when it is at your back, you can easily breeze through the route without any effort, whereas when it buffets you head-on, even the simplest ride can turn into a toil. However, whether it’s your enemy or your ally, the wind always keeps you on your toes as a cyclist, and a ride without it just wouldn't be that interesting.
The concept of Circle draws its inspiration from the spinning wheels of a bicycle in motion. Circles overlap each other, forming seemingly expanding and changing ripples, giving the pattern an abstract quality. Cycling and the circle, as fun as they are, are also metaphors for life. Life is a circle that goes round as we pedal our legs. Every year is also a cycle of seasons.
This design draws inspiration from the majestic mountains. With its crossing diamond shapes and green hues, the design evokes the breathtaking vistas of towering peaks and rolling hills. Mountains hold a special place in every cyclist’s heart, whether it be for the sheer enjoyment of the scenery, the exhilaration of downhill descents, or simply the thrill of steep climbs. Sometimes it can seem like your body is working against you when you're climbing, but the rush you get when you reach the summit makes it all worth it.
